Hi, my name is Nicola, former Journalist and Teacher, now author and tutor, and I’m a passionate advocate of helping young people achieve their very best.
I come from a Journalism, Marketing and PR background and as a result I have many transferrable skills, such as communication, ICT, presentation and creativity, which shines through in all aspects of my teaching, including in particular the core subjects of Maths, English and Science. I am very creative and I use creativity in my lessons to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils of all abilities.
I have a BA (Hons) in Applied Education and a Post Graduate Certificate of Education with a specialism in English. I have taught in primary schools and tutored children and young adults for the past eight years from KS1 through to GCSE and A ’Level ‘s in English, Maths and Science and I have worked for AQA marking GCSE exam papers.
I have also tutored and taught Primary school children, who have Dyscalculia, Dyslexia, Autism and ADHD so my previous and current teaching experience in schools within the private and state sector has given me a good understanding of how students learn and how to support them in making progress and exceeding expectations.
